Things that You Need for a Trade Show

Trade shows are an important part of business, especially if you are a start-up business. They allow you to advertise your business to possible prospects and you are also able to build a network with those who are in the same industry as you.

It may be stressful to prepare for a trade show, so I’ll give you a list of the things you need to prepare for the event to be successful.

Signage

This should be the first thing you need to prepare. This includes banners, rollerbanners, stands and the like. It should carry a marketing message that carries the values of your company. From afar, it should be able to capture the attention of your possible customers too. Be careful when picking the font, colour and style as this will determine if your signage will be effective for the show.

Promo items

Look for the cheapest yet most useful promo items you can give out. Choose items that can be used by your prospects in their everyday life such as pens, mugs and tumblers.

Business cards

Of course, you want to provide your customers with the information about your business so make sure to prepare business cards for the event. Include your business name, address and contact information.

Name tags

The people you interact with will probably want to know your name as well as your position. You can use a name tag or pins to make it more attractive.

Presentation

Prepare a slideshow on PowerPoint and make sure you have a projector so that prospects will have a quick preview of what your business offers and how they will benefit from it.

Computer, iPads and chargers

If you want your prospects to be interactive at your booth, bring in some technology. You can use it to let your customers log their information or for them to engage in an online survey that you can use for your future reference.

T-shirts

Do you want people to see your brand without them visiting your booth? Spend some effort on your staff’s t-shirts. Print the name of the business and try to be creative with it too. Even if you are not in the booth and just eating in the cafeteria, your prospects will be able to see your business name.

Staff

You need people to man your booth, right? You need someone to talk to possible clients and even someone who can do errands. That is why you should prepare your staff for the big day. Assign a task to each one of them. Let them understand the goal and the objective of the company. Make sure they are mentally and physically prepared for the big day.

On top of these things, you have to prepare yourself. Make sure that you are able to register for the trade show and that you are financially prepared for such an event. Sleep well before it and don’t spend too much time thinking about the trade show the night before it happens. It may only bring you stress which is not healthy for you or your business.
